Multian Saha Oy Invests in Advanced Drying Technology from Valutec

Finish Multian Saha Oy is undertaking a major investment to strengthen its lumber drying capacity and further enhance product quality. The company has entered into an agreement with Valutec for the delivery of three new batch kilns as well as the modernization of existing kilns through Valutec’s state-of-the-art Valmatics 4.0 control system to its sawmill in Multia.

“This investment is essential for meeting today’s stringent quality and efficiency standards in the drying process. Drying is a critical stage of production, and by eliminating bottlenecks we will significantly improve overall sawmill performance,” says Heikki Nuoranne, CEO of Multian Saha Oy.

Nuoranne highlights Valutec’s expertise and responsiveness as key factors in the decision. “We value Valutec’s ability to deliver both cutting-edge technology and the support required to ensure the success of this project.”

Prior to reaching a decision, Multian Saha Oy evaluated multiple kiln suppliers and consulted with industry users. According to the company, Valutec’s comprehensive solution provided a clear advantage.

“We are honored by Multian Saha’s confidence in us, and we are pleased to deliver our latest technology to support their development,” says John Karbin, CEO Valutec.

The kilns are built in stainless steel and equipped with pressure frames to minimize deformation of the top lumber layer. Stainless steel has proven superior to aluminum. An aluminum dryer lasts for about 20 years, while a stainless-steel dryer lasts forever, if maintained correctly.

Installation work is scheduled to begin in spring 2026, with commissioning planned for the summer.
