Södra has operated a sawmill in Värö since 1974, but the new facility was commissioned in 2011 and fully expanded in 2014. By 2015, Värö was Sweden’s largest sawmill with an annual production of nearly 600,000 m³ (255 MMBF). Production at the Värö sawmill consists of 80 percent spruce and 20 percent pine. The main markets are the United Kingdom and the United States, but the sawmill also delivers to China, Korea, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium and Sweden. And full production capacity has not yet been reached.
