Vida Invests in Increased Capacity – Valutec to Deliver Two Continuous Kilns to Bruza
Vida continues to invest in the future. Valutec has now been awarded an order for two OTC continuous kilns for the Vida Bruza sawmill in Hjältevad, Sweden. The investment will provide drying capacity of approximately 120 000m3 /55 000 MBF per year and forms an important part of Vida’s strategy for continued production growth and long-term expansion.
The order further strengthens the long-standing partnership between Vida and Valutec.
“Vida is one of our most long-term customers, and we have completed many successful projects together over the years. Their decision to once again choose Valutec demonstrates their confidence in our solutions, our ability to deliver, and our expertise, says Joakim Berglund, Sales Manager at Valutec.
New Drying Capacity Enables Future Expansion
In recent years, Vida has made substantial investments at its Bruza facility, including a new planing mill. The new lumber kilns represent an important step in the site’s continued development.
“We have invested significant resources in Bruza, and this investment is crucial to enabling future increases in sawmill production,” says Jonas Axelsson, Technical Manager at Vida.
Experience and Reliability Were Key Factors
Vida and Valutec have worked together for many years, and Vida has developed extensive in-house expertise in the operation and optimization of Valutec kilns. This was an important factor in the investment decision.
“We know exactly what we get with Valutec. We have extensive experience with their technology, receive excellent support, and projects are delivered according to plan. When investing in equipment that is expected to perform for several decades, reliability, availability, and expertise are decisive factors,” says Jonas Axelsson.
Strong Confidence in the Future Despite Challenging Market Conditions
The investment is being made at a time when the sawmill industry continues to face weak demand and pressured margins. For both Vida and Valutec, the project reflects a strong belief in the long-term future of the wood products industry.
“Making this investment in today’s market conditions demonstrates our long-term confidence in the sawmill industry and the opportunities we see ahead,” says Jonas Axelsson.
“Vida continues to develop its operations with a clear long-term perspective. We are proud to contribute solutions that strengthen both capacity and competitiveness for many years to come,” says Joakim Berglund.
The two new continuousl kilns are scheduled to be commissioned in spring 2027 and will form part of the continued development of Vida Bruza. The investment will create the conditions for increased production, high efficiency, and enhanced competitiveness for many years ahead.
